I have been working in digital publishing for 15 years (since the days of CD-ROM) and particularly specialize in UI/UX/IA. In my current role, I have been working primarily with TEI/XML encoding with an eye toward creating scholarly web resources but am familiar with and interested in all aspects of digital humanities, including text mining and pattern recognition, GIS, multimedia and data visualization, crowd-sourcing and scholarly collaboration, etc. My academic background is in Philosophy and I work particularly on projects connected to that subject, Classics, and Literature.
And only because you bring up Galaga, I will say that I held the high score in Q*Bert at my local arcade, undefeated until they turned it into a futon store...and also used to program my own text adventures in Basic on my Commodore 64 (not recommended).
